The term “micro-fiber” is based on the size of a fiber measuring below 1.0 denier (the diameter or fineness of a continuous or filament fiber—the lower the number, the finer the fiber, which in turn is more effective for cleaning surfaces). Micro-fiber consists of very fine threads of polyester and polyamide (nylon) combined to form a single thread. Micro-fibers are 100 times thinner than a single strand of human hair, when they are woven together they create a surface area 40 times more than that of a regular fiber – creating an expanded surface area with dramatically enhanced absorbing power.
